Vasudha Sondhi is the Managing Director of OMPL Group. Outbound Marketing Pvt Ltd, OM Tourism, Connect Worldwide India, OMT Hospitality and Annapurna Charitable Foundation are all managed under the OMPL Group. Vasudha also heads the WICCI’s Hospitality and Tourism sector as President Uttarakhand. Further, she is a very active member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Ladies Organization (FICCI- FLO), which is the largest body of Women Entrepreneurs in Asia.
At the peak of her career in 2002, Vasudha and her husband Sanjay took the plunge to start their own venture, Outbound Marketing, to cater to the demand for new market approaches in hotel sales and marketing. The group represents international hotel chains, National Tourism boards and handles branding and PR assignments for several prestigious Indian and international organizations. Vasudha is the driving force and her speciality lies in delivering numbers & revenue, winning several awards for source market growth and was named Enterprising Business Woman of the year 2019 by AIMA.
Vasudha and Sanjay set up Parvada Bungalows in 2018 in Uttarakhand within a fruit orchard and now that is running successfully as a yoga retreat. At this time, Vasudha partnered with Aarohi, an NGO and Le Meridien, New Delhi, to assist in setting up of home stays in village Peora in Uttrakhand – now a cooperative. Vasudha and her Parvada Bungalows team also set up a women’s self help group, “SEAKHO”, where the women’s group make and sell handicrafts including wool items.
Through the Annapurna Charitable Foundation, she worked on helping rebuild homes of a village in District Haldia in West Bengal after cyclone Amphan had flattened the village.
Vasudha enjoys excellent relationships with travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporates, the media and the government due to her ability to strategise across destinations, hotels or brands. She’s an avid reader, a foodie, and loves an element of mystery and adventure in her travel. Vasudha absolutely loves the hospitality and tourism industry. Her mantra is, “Every day is a new day and every challenge is new. You can never have a boring day syndrome.”
